Watford Electronics

Famous for their green and black centre spreads (more like embedded catalogues!) in the likes of Micro User, this was the software arm of the Watford Electronics shops.

Based in Jessa House 247 Lower High St, Watford - the building still stands today but looks derelict.

There's a lovely little potted history online.

I chiefly remember them for a dodgy joystick they produced which I got for my birthday. I believe it's still with their support department.

Probably my favourite version of this game on the BBC, this is entertaining, has large good looking sprites and the music is definitly up to scratch. It is well coded, and Pengo moves around a treat. This was a joint production by Watford Electronics and HSoft (or Hudson Soft but I'm not sure) and reportedly was much publicised.
