Visions

Dubbed - 'the software factory' (by themselves) this company was actually quite well known back in the 80's. The games aren't that good, but they're worth a look.

Their best game, this one is a really good original one. You are a stunt man, hired to do stunts, and then take the money for them. On skies, motorbikes, cars, anything, you have to do daring jumps rquiring split second timing. The action is viewed from the side, and there is a great feeling of speed.

This is actually quite good, it is a sort of scrolling shoot em up, you have to travel around the sideways scrolling maze collecting points and shooting aliens. It is not exactly the most enthralling game ever created, but it will do for say, half an hours entertainment? Anyway, the graphics are not inspiring but work well, the worst thing is the fact that the main sprites legs do not move when he walks!

A very boring game, this is supposed to be like Mr EE by Micropower, or Mr Do (the arcade version) but it ends up being a total piece of rubbish. The graphics are ok, but the game play stinks, the collision detection is awful, and it just looks as if it is only half finished.

This tries to be a bit like Elite, but ends up falling flat on its face, it really is crap! The presentation is non-existent, the graphics are minimal at best, and the worst thing of all is the fact that the only things you get to shoot are crap rocks! If there was a law against bad games, this would be public enemy number 1!!

Another clone of Q*Bert, this is an average one, the standard jump on all the blocks to win the level, and dodge the badees affair. It is such a shame that so many companies copied this idea, it really isn't that good.

Nifty Lifty

In this game you have to cross to the other side of the screen whilst avoiding the moving lifts blocking your path, when you do that, you go up a level and have to go back to the other side of the screen again, this happens until you get to the top of the screen, then you go onto a new screen with more lifts. It is quite hard, and timing is essential. The music is very nicely done and the graphics are low-res, but colourful. This is my favourite Visions game!

A clone of the game Pengo. You are in a maze of ice, chased by the evil SnowBees, and you have to get rid of them by sliding them over the SnowBees, when you kill all of them, you win the level. This is an ok version, but I think that the Superior Software version just edges it here.

Snooker

An average snooker game, the graphics are very nice and everything, but the way the balls move is just terrible. If you hit them they take ages to decide to move, and it just looks completely fake! Its only saving grace is the fact that you can have two players playing, which is a bit more fun!

Fairly good text adventure in which you have to find the Warlords soul and destroy it. It is quite basic, the parser and descriptions aren't up to much, but worth a look. I think this was the only text adventure that Visions ever made.
