From what I've heard, this company was pretty big back in the early 80's, I think they held out until about 86, but I can't be sure. I think they had a lot of scuffles in management, in fact I think two of the people who founded Imagine games, the ill-fated company, walked out of BugByte just monthes before! I have a few of their games on original tapes, and there is an offer of a t-shirt with the BugByte logo on it - if you have one, I'd like a picture! :-)
Please contact me if you have any additional information about the company or its games!

Text-based backgammon game, its not really very interesting as dice games never usually are on the computer. Its only 2 player, so no huge feat of programming has been achieved..definitely not one for the collection ;)

A lame version of Missile Command, but this time with rockets, you guide the last rocket you fire, which kind of makes it hard, as there are too many bombs fired at you, and the bombs are too small for your rocket to hit more than one at a time. Don't play this, it is just plain annoying!

A nice version of the game, in fact it is probably the only playable one on the Beeb! The graphics are a bit blocky, but generally nicely drawn, and the gameplay is at least good, focusing less on the simulation side of things than all the other Cricket games.

Adventure / RPG game, you have a chracter with various strengths etc but the main part of the game is set out like a text adventure. An early game (1982) from Bug-Byte and as such, not very good.

This is probably the best game ever to come from Bug-Byte, however it still shows their weakness at developing a controllable game. Up to four players can play on this game, it is set in the dungeons of a castle, with you playing a longbow firing man. You have to shoot the monsters and recover the treasures. It is a very good idea, but unfortunately the controlling of the cross bow is very difficult, and more often than not you find yourself getting hit by the monsters whilst struggling to shoot them!
